About Santa Barbara Wood Restoration

Local, licensed, and focused on one thing: bringing weathered wood back to life.

Our Story

We started Santa Barbara Wood Restoration because weathered wood is worth saving, and too much of it gets torn out when it could have been brought back. A deck or fence that has gone gray and rough is almost always sound underneath. It just needs the right process to look like wood again.

That process is four steps, and the order is what matters. We clean the wood, sand it smooth, brighten it to open the grain, then seal it with an oil-based finish. The brightening step is the one most jobs skip, and it is the one that decides whether the color comes out even. We do it on every job.

We protect your landscaping while we work, keep you posted on the plan, and walk the finished job with you before we leave. If something is not right, we make it right.

Santa Barbara Wood Restoration is a licensed California contractor, #1105057, insured for $2,000,000 and bonded for $25,000. It runs under the same ownership and standards as Santa Barbara Soft Wash, so the reputation behind the work is already established.

Weathered Wood Is Damage in Progress

Gray, cracking, splintering wood is not just a cosmetic problem. That is UV and water working on bare wood, and it does not stop on its own. Every dry season and every marine layer takes a little more.

Left alone, the same deck or fence that could be cleaned, brightened, and sealed today eventually reaches the point where boards have to be replaced. Restoring the wood now seals it back up, and it costs a fraction of tearing it out and starting over.

The four-step, oil-based finish does more than change the color. It seals the grain back up and protects the wood you already paid for, instead of hiding the gray for a few months.

The right restoration protects the wood you already paid for.
